Girls and Horses

When I was growing up I kind of felt like there were two kinds of girls. Those who loved horses and those that didn't. I didn't. It wasn't that I didn't like them but I was never really exposed to them, I didn't spend any measurable time with them. My girls however are the opposite. They LOVE horses. For K I would go so far as to say they are her life's passion. Honest. I think at her young age she has already discovered her passion and it is the horse. I really think they will be in her life forever. If you ask her today she wants to grow up and have a farm in Kentucky. She loves the smell of hay and manure. I kid you not.

So today was another horse show. Both my girlies got 2nd place this time in their groups. The judge this time was wonderful and really gave them a lot of constructive feedback as well as encouragement. It was certainly a beautiful day to be out there.

Great job girls!!

A few weeks ago, we went to my Mother's friend's farm. She raises mini horses, but she also had some big horses there. I got such a kick out of them and their personalities. It was amazing...and the smell...I LOVED the smell of the horses. PW always says that and I could never understand, but now I do. Anyway, all my kids rode a mini horse (except Michael)...even (my)K. The woman has had horses all her life and said they start putting their kids on at an early age. Of course, it was a mini horse and we walked beside it with K, but it was neat to see a tiny little thing on there...lol.

I can definitely see how horses could become your life. I say go for it!

I like hay, but I am not sure about manure.

GREAT JOB on your daughter's ribbons. Love the photos. It must be great to see them both loving something like that.
