The 3 kids were all at camp today. It is a camp located 10 minutes away and it is a traditional camp. It is out in the woods with old buildings, a dining hall, a pond, a dock and lots of nature. I had no idea what the kids would think, I had hoped they would like it. Well they LOVED it. They had a full day of swimming, boating, biking, playing, crafts, singing, eating, games and then some. They were there 7:30-5:30 and will be there every day this week. I'm so, so, so glad they enjoyed it!
What did I do all day by myself? Well I got my Martha on.
I cleaned my entire downstairs, really, really good.
I cleaned my oven and my baseboards and the fronts of my cabinets.
I did oodles of laundry.
I grocery shopped and went to the library and bank.
I prepped and made a really good shrimp and steak dinner. Check out the shrimp recipe here.
I made sugar cookies shaped like Moose.
I made bread.
I went for my run and then took a shower.
Whew! Now I am sitting and playing on my laptop. R is out for his run. Kids just went to bed a few minutes ago. Tomorrow after I drop them off I am picking up my friend J for coffee and then we are going to the school to paint a couple of murals on some doors. It will be fun, I have been feeling that creative itch lately.
And that is a good thing....

Sounds like a perfectly wonderful day!
I ended my day with a run ... which was nice (a little less heat from the day). I look forward to the school year when I get to run 2 mornings without a thought of a child. THAT WILL BE NEW TO ME!
