Asics

Having a little trouble with the insole of my running shoe. I posted about it on my running support group board and several people commented that they have either had the same trouble or knew of others who did with this same model shoe. They suggested calling Asics which I will tomorrow. They are only 2 months old and for $95 they should be in better shape than this. Hoping they can help me find a solution. Until this I have been really pleased with the shoes.

Training is going well. I am excited about our first milestone coming up, a 5K on June 14th. R and I are running it together. It is really cool taking this journey with him. We try to run together (a benefit of all kids in school and him having a 2 minute commute and not having to be there really till 9/9:30) but we don't each time. It is nice when we do though. And it is just cool to be experiencing all of this with him. Neither of us have hit that point where we like it yet but we have moved past dreading it and it is a consistant part of our week. I always visualize running through the Magic Kingdom castle when I am out there and I can't wait till I really am doing that! If we can get through that whole race, wow, what a rush that will be.

You would think with all this exercise since January I would have lost a pound or two? It wasn't my goal or objective, I've always been pretty happy with my weight. But I figured going from zero exercise to 3-4 times a week would do something right? Wrong. I have gained like 3 lbs. I am much more hungry these days. It's fine but just really boggled my mind that adding in exercise didn't drop even a lb.

Random thought of the moment: why is it that the 2 cherubs upstairs can get along so well one moment but in the blink of an eye it is he said/she said/he did/she did? Being an only child, I don't think I'll ever truly understand the sibling relationship.

Hmmm ... I don't know if I can help with your running shoe. I wear New Balance and they were also quite pricey. I went to a NB store that watched my running style and matched the sneaker to it. So far they are working out really well.

My husband loses weight with running, but I typically don't. It may be that I am not upping my level ... speed and distance. What has seemed to make a difference in weight is actual weight training. I have been doing these machines at my gym (STRIVE).

Good luck with that race. WE have a "Fun Run" and 4mile race this Sat. at my Church.

It may not be that unusual to not lose weight... You are possibly gaining more muscle which weighs more than fat...

I'm all about the angles... LOL!
